Norman Foote

Norman Foote is a popular singer-songwriter, humorist and performer who offers outreach presentations for schools. His musicality and creations are like no other, using original composition, adaptations, props and puppets to engage and inspire his audience. A multi- award-winning artist, Norman has written for Disney records, “Max and Ruby,” and “Little Bear,” to mention a few, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for school music programs. He has received a Canadian Juno, Parents’ Choice Gold Award and NAPPA.

His three programs include:

1- In School Performance: Norman brings laughter, music and learning to an entertaining conversation with his audience in school performances. He incorporates songs (“Love My New (Recycled) Shirt,” “Always Be Yourself” and “When I Grow Up”) and his hilarious twist on tradition, playing with pop culture and musical styles. In a sensational and comedic section, he features his original props and puppets.

2- Songwriting Sessions/Workshops: Tell the story of your school through lyrics and melody. Norman offers a residency program with songwriting workshops and song rehearsals. This can be a half day to a full week in your school. Themes such as compassion, environment, respect and responsibility are incorporated.

3- Choir Program culminating in a Show: Everybody Sings turns entire schools into choirs, in which students celebrate their own voice and easily learn a number of Norman’s songs. Creating a show and presenting it to families and the school community are the goals.
