Ademola
Brooklyn-born and raised, Ademola Oyewole-Davis is a singer, poet, writer, educator, and activist. He has been singing and performing his written work since he was 8. His love for music and creativity has taken him coast to coast, performing and speaking in Southern California and New York on social justice, art, music, and Black history. Having taught for over 8 years with organizations like Urban Word NYC and various independent/charter schools, Ademola utilizes his skills to create a conscious, critical, and creative experience for students in his curriculum development and community engagement outreach, keeping in mind his mission to give voice to truth and power to justice. Currently, Ademola is working on his debut album while being a DEI and education consultant.
Introduction to Percussion Workshop: This workshop is great for all ages as a beginner's course in percussion, exploring the history of percussion, rhythm, and making original beats. Schools must provide percussion instruments.
Storytelling Workshop: This workshop is best for grades Pre-K-5. It involves ways for students to explore telling stories, acting, and engaging in call and response to express themselves in community with their peers.
Poetry Performance Workshop: Ademola walks students through the history of poetry and guides them into exploring their voice through writing and performing poetry. Best for grades 5-12
Public Speaking (Poetry, Black History, Social Justice, Hip-Hop): Suitable for grades 3-12, Ademola speaks on his experience as an artist, an activist, and a student of hip-hop.
Professional Development Workshop: Working with teachers and administrators, Ademola troubleshoots how to incorporate dynamic arts education in the classroom without burning out.
Professional Development Workshop DEIB: Ademola works with teachers and administrators to spot moments for growth to ensure that students and educators alike feel welcomed and honored in the workplace.
Creative Writing Workshop for Black Boys: Ademola works with young self-identified Black students on expressing themselves through creative writing and building community.
