Hunk-Ta Bunk-Ta Music
Since 1992, Katherine Dines has performed for students and family audiences both throughout the U.S. and globally with the Department of Defense. As a songwriter, her 12 “Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta” music CDs have garnered more than 33 national awards, including a Grammy nomination.
Katherine’s energetic and highly interactive programs engage students on many levels, combining movement, storytelling, humor, drama, global instruments, zany props, Sign Language and more. School programs can be targeted to specific age groups (Pre-K-5th grades), and are integrated into California literacy, movement and music standards. Performances are 45-60 minutes in length with time for questions about the songwriting process.
In addition to school assemblies, Katherine offers songwriting workshops and other special programs for babies, toddlers, parents and older adults.

1. Around the Globe with Chants – Explore the world as we move and sing chants in different languages. Grade Level: Pre-K-6th+ Audience capacity: Any size
2. Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Music – Traditional and original award-winning songs, stories, chants, movement and props loaded with audience. Grade Level: Pre-K-6th+ Audience capacity: Any size
WORKSHOPS AVAILABLE
1. Write a Song and Move Along – Write a song in one session, and connect the lyrics to movement. Grade Level: K-6th+ Audience capacity: 30
(This workshop can be conducted as a residency with up to 5 sessions)
2. Make and Play It: Write a song and create a musical instrument to play along with it. Grade Level: Pre-K-6th+ Audience capacity: Any size
