The 39th Annual I Madonnari Street Painting Festival:
I Madonnari is a fundraising event for Children’s Creative Project (CCP), a nonprofit arts education organization of the Santa Barbara County Education Office. The festival proceeds sponsor art programs conducted by professional artists at schools serving more than 50,000 children in county public schools.
In its 39th iteration, the 2025 festival had the honor of featuring artists Cheryl Guthrie and Terri Tabor, whose painting “Mother Nature" served as the visual centerpiece of this year’s event. The festival also welcomed an impressive lineup of both new and returning artists, showcasing a wide range of genres, from portraits to vibrant animal illustrations, fantastical scenes to historical reinterpretations. Countless hours of careful drawing, chalk painting, and creative dedication culminated in a remarkable display of local and international talent.
This year’s festival also highlighted live musical performances from well‑established groups such as Spencer the Gardener and Mezcal Martini, along with outstanding sets by local high school and junior high school bands. Together, the visual and performing arts created a dynamic, celebratory atmosphere that honored creativity across generations.
