CUSD Student Art Exhibition
Hosted by Children’s Creative Project (CCP) and Transitional Youth Services of the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO)
About the Exhibition
This November, we are bringing together student artwork from across the Carpinteria Unified School District to recognize National Homeless Youth Awareness Month (NHYAM) and help raise awareness about youth homelessness and the resources available to children and families.
The exhibition will showcase artwork created by elementary students through CCP artist-led classroom workshops. Students are invited to use their creativity and artistic voices to explore themes of empathy, belonging, kindness, community, and support.
Why Art Matters
Art provides an accessible and meaningful way for students to explore important social issues. Through creative expression, students can develop empathy, build understanding, and share their perspectives with others.
This collaborative exhibition brings together students, educators, families, and community members to celebrate student creativity while creating space for conversations about belonging and supporting vulnerable youth.

Submit your artwork and be part of the show! Categories for submission include 2D and 3D art.
Your artwork can help spark conversation, inspire empathy, and remind our community that every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and that they belong.
Students who are enrolled in a Carpinteria Unified School District school may submit their work to their art teacher or the front office by November 4th, 2026.

What is the goal of this event?
The goal of the exhibition is to use student art as a way to celebrate young artists, foster empathy and belonging, and raise community awareness about youth homelessness and available resources.
