Our Programs

Children’s Creative Project supports individual schools and school districts in creating programs that meet the needs and budgets through the following programs:

Resident Artist Division

Through the Resident Artist Division (RAD), professional artists provide sequential, participatory lessons in dance, theater, music, and visual arts, providing opportunities for creative expression, skill development, and joyful discovery. These workshops address the visual and performing arts content standards for California public schools and can integrate the arts with other academic subject areas.

Touring Artist Program

The Touring Artist Program (TAP) sponsors 135 professional touring artists who present multicultural performances and workshops at school sites in  Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The Touring Artist Program has been a cornerstone of CCP’s mission to nurture creativity, foster learning, and build bridges between artists and communities for decades and is the cornerstone of the annual Arts Catalog that CCP produces and distributes to all Santa Barbara County schools. One $600 Arts Credit per year is offered to each public elementary and secondary school in Santa Barbara County to subsidize, in part, the performance fee(s) of touring artists listed in the Arts Catalog.

Annual Performance Event

The Children’s Creative Project presents a free annual performance event featuring professional touring artists at either the Santa Barbara Bowl, the Arlington Theatre or the Granada Theater for 2000 to 4000 elementary students from Santa Barbara South County schools. During morning school hours, the performances feature performing companies that tour nationally and internationally.

Resident Artist Division

Resident Artist Workshops offer students and teachers the unique opportunity to work with local artists in the visual and performing arts. Through our innovative programs, artists conduct sequential, participatory workshops in dance, theater, music, and visual and media arts.
